Pulau Ubin Cycling
7am woke up. never eat anything. then go out le. to meet her. (ming, i know u r looking..)
to take her the way to montfort junior school. then she mentioned, she may have to take lunch in less than half an hour. i took her to buy a packet of beehon, she bought kuay tiao, she say can last longer.
then after she bought the mee, i walked home like the way i walked there, but taking a different route altogether. well, i dun noe how she will feel. i am just playing hard to get since she is like with me neither here nor there and she is wearing her nyp shs shirt. i do not want to sia suay her, if i happen to be with her too close. maybe i am just too cautious, but i am not too sure myself. i may go onto a second boat, and i am entering ns, so what to do?
to be my own prince like i once was. i just want to know as many gals as possible, not despo but just want to widen my networking. it is like no one will say they hate money or money is just enough for them. same theory. friends are never enough, but they too cannot be treated as meal.
i still decide my future. i want to be a engineer, a motivator, a leader and last of all; a scientist.
i want to be king of all trades. who says a musician cannot be a good mathematician? not many have done it, but some of them have done it. why not me.
ok., back to home. i went for my breakfast, my bro have not even wake up yet. as i finished eating my 2 ba chang, he stared at me while leaning towards the pillar, giving me the dun-care attitude. wat to do, he just woke up.
i settled everything for my day trip to ubin, meeting time is changi point, then 9am.
i rushed down to the bus 109 bus-stop. waited. as i smsed her, randy called. i answered almost immediately. he changed the time to 1030.
as i boarded the bus, my card had no value, and i got not much coin. lucky got $1.90. but i gave like $1.60 to reach my destination at changi point.
as i walked there, to be able to board the bus again home, i need more coins. i went to search for the soya bean shop. never seen one. maybe it is because it is a monday morning. as i walked around the coffee shop at changi village. i saw a notice board. it says: boardwalk. i headed there. next i saw a scene of many lorries gathering by the side of the brigate/wall of concrete/granite. i walked over. saw a man in yellow shirt, he was staring into the sea, towards where the lorries are situated. curiousity overtook me and my patience for my friend, the passion and enthusiam to learn things leaded me on and on. i reached.
it was morning 9.50am. i stood, staying still looking at the familiar face of people that may be once the sons of our fellow grandfathers. there were people with packs of ice, big chunks ones. there was little shouting as the people already were familiar with the procedure right now. they are what i would call them the water-man, fisherman. modern fishermen. they were in shorts and slippers not sandals and boots. they used a ladder leaning against the granite wall, to get up to the land or otherwise modified jetty. there was hardly any barrier to stop them. anyone would have fallen down if they are not careful. i swear.
on the bridge i stand, there was also traffic as well, not to mentioned the man who was watching with me, or rather the other way round. wearing my contact lenses today, i could not get a view of the proper image of the bird in my oval-shaped face. i liked myself without my spectacles. whoa, you see a handsome face. but as my myopia increases, my spectacles become heavier and trust me, i am still bothered by it although i had it changed in about october 2005. the traffic was heavy due to the people fishing opposite the bridge. anglers, yep, passing the same bridge to get across to the coffee shop. the day is still young from fish catches.
boats coming from the side, one by one. as if in a sequence, not very heavy traffic in the water, but it is like after one boat finishes, the next came by. i get bored by the process. and i went to take a pee. thinking i would wait for randy and company to changi.
waiting waiting. still nobody.
then i bought a packet of the biscuit sticks with vanilla.
i continued to wait, about 3 boats passed. i started to call. every 5 mins for about 20 minutes. i was then left alone waiting. fearing i may missed them, as randy did not pick up the phone. i went up.
i stood there, the time then was about 1045am. i thought, if they never come by 11am, i am going off. at about 105?, they came. but, i will have to wait for them to replenish themselves with water and some food. they came on their own bike.
so total 6 person, 5 bikes.
we got on the boat, bumboat. 12 person 5 bikes.
we got on the island and then they helped me choose a bike. we continued our trail. off-road and on-road. their bike is good, can go on their own pace, of course. they can controlled their own bike. on the way, we set our target to looking at girls. pretty gals that is. yup. we saw many. but all the gals came with a least their male counterparts. so we did not go near, anyway i do not know what they are going to do anyway. speak with them? i think they are just joking. we saw one nest at one of the hut, the nest had two babies, blue in colour, i saw the mother bird at first, but we were busy phototaking that the parent may not want to go near... i think. i saw the pong pong fruit.
we had lunch later at the coffee shop on the island. we ordered 2 $8 fried rice, 1 sambal kangkong, 1 sweet & sour pork. drinks each for us. total $45.
we made our way to noordin beach, and that is where i found my spider. the black fighting spider. then the toilet, the slope, the stairscase.
a group of npcc cadets there for a camp. i saw them playing leadership game like sand-castle building. i know very well, the sand is not the right sand. but i guess it is fine. just the content of leadership and team-bonding.
we went back to the checkpoint, the basketball court. we headed to OBS Campsite. one person's tyre busted. we tagged it. then the obs ranger came., claiming it is restricted zone.
we wanted to stuff with leaves as the location where the tyre busted is beyond repair, being too near. thus randy tied a node to the tyre and squeezed it in. we got out of the forest, but i got injured.
everything is simply too fast. my hand palms were scratched, pus still coming out now. my left knee cap injured, not much blood came out. then my right calf. and that left me sitting down on the floor.
the first aid kit came in useful. i asked for the triangular bandage to be cut into half, then wrapped around my palms. it did the work. i was able to cycle out. i drank my 100-plus and then headed to jetty. it was then that i saw 3 teenagers catching fish in the water. one of them having the gvn black t-shirt or is it the one that nyp shs had. msg: touching lives or something like that.
we headed back to changi point. my left leg cramped once i got on the shore, a bad sign. lucky i was able to get out fast enough.
randy and his 3 other friends went off. i went back with another of randy's friend. got back via taxi, bicycle, many taxi do not want to take. therefore, i asked him to take out his tyre so as to be convenient for the taxi. because taxi driver claimed that if the bike is put in the boot, the boot cover would come up and become hard for the taxi driver to see behind. just scaredly(spelling error) cat.
lucky for us, we found one that were able to take us, he is heading to yishun to change shift. so we went hougang via old tampines road. to blk one, now i know; hougang ave 3. i took off my ninja bandages, ya except for the ninja surugan(wrong spelling). ok i dropped opposite the neighbourhood park and took the overhead bridge to metta home that block before making my way to my own block.
done, reached home. ho ho ho. no one is home. i quickly keep my helmet and made my way to the bathroom, bearing the pain. i sprained my wrist. this is the worst of all the injuries.
safe! now typing away. my laptop is now stained with my blood and pus from my hand's palm.
